Where it stands

The most recent verifiable action is the second land closing, about 140 acres for roughly $95M, which closed March 18 and brought Switch past 300 acres in the Apex Industrial Park, after a first closing of 176 acres for $85.5M in December (Las Vegas Review-Journal).

Switch is the owner (Data Center Dynamics). Nothing more recent is on the record: no campus has been announced and no applications have been filed in any source we have. Local opponents raised the company's use of roughly 340 million gallons of water in 2025 after the purchase (KTNV).

Approvals and public record

No zoning or use-permit filings for the Apex acreage were confirmed in the sources we have.

What is not known

Switch has disclosed no building programme, no megawatt capacity and no timeline for the Apex land, so no construction cost exists yet. The two closings are dated only as December and March 18 in the source we have, without years stated. No zoning or use-permit filings were confirmed.

Why it matters

Roughly $200M of land held without a filed application is the clearest measure of how much data-centre capacity is queued at Apex but not yet entitled. For residents, the water figure raised at the time of the purchase is the only quantified impact on the record.
