Where it stands

As of August 20, 2026, the guitar-shaped tower was reported as nearly complete, with installation of the blue-tinted glass curtain wall in its final stages and opening described as late 2027 (FOX5 Vegas).

The structure tops out at 660 feet across 42 stories and is planned for roughly 3,700 rooms, a 174,000 sf casino floor and a 5,000-seat Hard Rock Live theater (FOX5 Vegas). The LVCVA Tourism Construction Bulletin of May 15, 2026 adds 200,000 sf of convention space and lists completion in Q4 2027 (LVCVA).

Approvals and public record

No dated approval actions or case numbers for this project appear in the sources we have.

What is not known

Two cost figures are on the record and we do not reconcile them. The LVCVA bulletin lists $1,500M for the construction line item it tracks (LVCVA), while FOX5 reports the redevelopment at about $5 billion (FOX5 Vegas). The bases differ, the gap is more than threefold, and no public explanation of the difference exists.

No general contractor, architect of record or engineer of record is named in the sources we have, and no dated public approval actions or case numbers were confirmed.

Why it matters

The tower is the largest single room addition in progress on the Center Strip, and its curtain wall stage is the last visible milestone before interior fit-out, which is where subcontract labour demand shifts for trades working the site. The absence of any named general contractor on a project of this size also means the local trades have no public prime to track.
