Where it stands

The campus broke ground on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 and the building is under construction for a fall 2027 opening, at three stories and 30,000 sf on 800 E. Lake Mead Blvd, with chancellor Matt McNair cited (Nevada State University).

The building anchors a 19-acre North Las Vegas Gateway district, with Agora Realty as district developer (Las Vegas Review-Journal).

What is not known

Neither the construction cost nor the general contractor has been disclosed. Our own earlier record listed SCA Design as designer, which the sources we have do not confirm, so we do not carry it. No approval actions or case numbers appear for the campus building.

Why it matters

A 30,000 sf academic building is small, but it is the anchor tenancy the surrounding 19 acres of planned mixed-use is being marketed against, so its fall 2027 date is the gate for the rest of the district. It is also the first university campus building in North Las Vegas.
