What we know

The 33,000-seat ballpark for the relocated Athletics is under construction on nine acres at the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue, on part of the former Tropicana site. The general contractor is a Mortenson–McCarthy joint venture (Ballpark Digest).

As of May 2026, roughly $400 million of the $2 billion budget had been spent, with the project reported on time and on budget. The second steel truss arch was completed on August 18, 2026 (NVBEX).

Dates conflict — here's the spread

Substantial completion is contractually set at February 29, 2028. The LVCVA bulletin lists "Spring 2028." A widely-cited hobbyist tracker lists September 2028 (Lou's Vegas). We report the contractual date as the primary figure and note the others rather than averaging them.

Why it matters

The ballpark is the anchor that makes the rest of the Tropicana parcel developable. Bally's $1.19 billion redevelopment of the remaining land received Phase One entitlements on August 26, 2026 and is scheduled so that its podium opens with the ballpark (NVBEX).
